Bangladesh Employers’ Federation (BEF), in collaboration with Bangladesh Sweden Polytechnic Institute, Kaptai, Rangamati Hill Tracts, with the technical assistance from Skills 21 Project of ILO, Dhaka

BEF in collaboration with the Sylhet Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) organized a Training of Trainers (ToT) on Business and Financial Module for Migrant workers on February 20, 2022 at the conference room of SCCI, Sylhet.

Bangladesh Employers’ Federation (BEF), in collaboration with Sylhet Technical School & College, with the technical assistance from Skills 21 Project of ILO, Dhaka, organized and conducted a 10-day long Incubating Entrepreneurs’ “Boot Camp” with startup entrepreneurs on February 13-23, 2022 at Conference Hall, Sylhet TSC, Technical Road, Sylhet. The objectives of the program were to (i) mentor incubates for developing business incubation center, and (ii) design processes to nurture businesses from idea generation to start-up companies through a comprehensive business support program and also help them in getting established and accelerating their growth and success. Mr. Joha Jamilur Rahman, Sr. Training Coordinator, BEF and Ruman Ishtiak, SME Specialist, facilitated the program as resource persons.

Mr. Alimul Ahsan Chowdhury, Director, Sylhet Chamber of Commerce & Industry and President, NASCIB, Sylhet graced the event as the Chief Guest. The Special Guests present were Ms. Sharnalata Ray, President, Sylhet Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Towfiq Box Lipon, Councilor, Sylhet City Corporation, Mr. Gunjan Dallakoti, Deputy Country Director, ILO, and Md. Anisuzzaman, Program Officer, ILO. Mr. Santush Chandra Debnath, Principal, Sylhet TSC chaired the inaugural session. Bangladesh Employers’ Federation (BEF) in cooperation with the Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS) of Japan organized a two-day long virtual training program on “Human Resource Management- Motivation and Engagement” on 7-8 February 2022. The objective of the training program was to deepen participants’ understanding of Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management with the reference of practice and experience in Japan, especially focusing on improvement of employees’ motivation and enhancement of employee engagement. Prof. MAITA Tatsunobu, President, CEO, HR Business Partner Inc., Professor, Graduate School of Management of GLOBIS University, Japan conducted and facilitated the sessions. A total number of 52 participants representing 20 organizations participated in the program.

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Ardashir Kabir, President, Bangladesh Employers’ Federation (BEF) delivered the inaugural address. Ms. Taga Toshie, General Manager, Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS) of Japan; and Dr. A K M Moazzem Hussain, Honorary Adviser to AOTS Activities in Bangladesh made their remarks.
