Bangladesh Employers’ Federation (BEF), in collaboration with the ProGRESS Project of ILO, Country Office for Bangladesh, held a daylong “Awareness Raising Session on Gender Friendly Environment at Workplace” on 19th September 2024 at the Conference Hall of the Dinajpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Maldah Patty, Dinajpur. The session aimed to build awareness of both the employers and employees in the areas of Gender Equity, Gender Equality, Gender Demand, Gender Role and Gender Based Violence. Particular Emphasis was given on the role of employers on gender issues in light of the Bangladesh Labour Act 2006.
Mr. Asif Ayub, Joint Secretary-General, Bangladesh Employers’ Federation (BEF) welcomed the participants and conducted the session. He also shared the objectives and expected outcomes of the same.
Mr. Reza Humayun Faruque Chowdhury Shamim, President, Dinajpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry was the Chief Guest. Ms. Jannatul Safa Shahinur, President, Dinajpur Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Mr. Md. Mofazzal Hossain, President, Jewellery Owners’ Association attended the session as the Special Guests and made introductory remarks. A total of 25 participants (Female-08, Male-17) including employers and employees from Tourism, Care and Agro-Based sectors attended the event.
