BEF Organizes Discussion on Future Skills Needs of Juvenile Workers in Bangladesh

Bangladesh Employers’ Federation (BEF), in collaboration with the ARC Programme of ILO, Country Office for Bangladesh, organized and conducted a discussion on Future Skills Needs of Juvenile Workers in Bangladesh on 27th February 2024 at its Motijheel office. The objective of the discussion was to uplift the prospects and quality of work for juvenile workers in Bangladesh through identifying skills needs and appropriate employment opportunities. Also, to identify skills needs and appropriate employment opportunities for juvenile workers, to promote social integration among young workers by preparing them for suitable roles in the formal job market as they reach the legal age, and to facilitate the empowerment of juvenile workers in Bangladesh

Mr. Farooq Ahmed, Secretary-General & CEO, Bangladesh Employers’ Federation (BEF) welcomed the guests and participants to attend the session. Ms. Ligaya Dumaoang, Skills Specialist, ILO Country Office, shared the program details and objectives of this discussion. Mr. Tahmid Ahmed, Vice President, BEF, made his opening statement. Mr. Ferdous Ahmed, Consultant, BEF, delivered a presentation on the “Future Skills Needs of Juvenile Workers in Bangladesh.” Subsequently, a technical discussion with industry leaders took place which had been jointly moderated by Mr. Ferdous Ahmed, Consultant, BEF and Mr. Joha Jamilur Rahman, Head of Training, BEF fostering a collaborative exploration of the subject.
