BEF–ILO Consultation Workshop on Strengthening Bipartite Social Dialogue Mechanisms

Bangladesh Employers’ Federation (BEF), jointly with the International Labour Organization (ILO) – Labour Administration and Working
Conditions (LAWC) Cluster, organized a Consultation Workshop with Employers on Strategic Action Plan to Strengthen Bipartite Social Dialogue Mechanisms
on 22 June 2026 at MCCI’s Gulshan Office, Dhaka.

Objective

The workshop aimed to develop a strategic action plan outlining employers’ roles in strengthening bipartite social dialogue mechanisms
in Bangladesh and to gather feedback and recommendations on priority actions, implementation challenges, and coordination mechanisms.

Opening Session & Presentation

The opening session featured remarks by Mr. Saidul Islam, Additional Secretary-General, BEF, and
Ms. Nada Aridhi, Technical Specialist, LAWC Cluster, ILO Country Office for Bangladesh.
A presentation was delivered by Ms. Rukshana Yasmin Arzoo, Senior Programme Officer, LAWC, ILO,
followed by a group work session moderated by Mr. Md. Moslem Uddin, Assistant Secretary-General, BEF.

Closing

The session concluded with closing remarks by Mr. Saidul Islam, Additional Secretary-General, BEF.

A total of 25 participants, including representatives from BEF member organizations, industry leaders,
and various business associations such as BGMEA, BAPA, BJSA, BJMA, ISCs, and FLAXA, attended the workshop.
