Bangladesh Employers’ Federation (BEF), with technical support from the International Labour Organization (ILO) Country Office for Bangladesh, organized a two-day Capacity Building Training on Collective Bargaining and Negotiation Skills on 29–30 September 2026 at the MCCI Conference Hall, Motijheel, Dhaka.

The training focused on strengthening participants’ capacity in collective bargaining and negotiation, covering key principles, negotiation techniques, communication, problem-solving, and needs-based approaches. Through interactive sessions, case studies, group exercises, role plays, and simulations, participants applied these skills to practical workplace situations and developed strategies for constructive and mutually acceptable solutions.

Mr. Md. Saidul Islam, Additional Secretary-General, BEF, delivered the welcome address and highlighted the importance of constructive dialogue and effective negotiation in promoting sound industrial relations. Mr. Chowdhury Albab Kadir, Senior Programme Officer, ILO Country Office for Bangladesh, shared the objectives and context of the training. Ms. Rukshana Yasmin Arzoo, Senior Programme Officer, ILO Country Office for Bangladesh, facilitated the training and conducted sessions on key aspects of collective bargaining and negotiation. Mr. Habibur Rahman, Assistant Secretary-General (Legal Affairs), BEF, also conducted a session focusing on relevant legal aspects. The training concluded with remarks and a vote of thanks from Mr. Md. Saidul Islam, Additional Secretary-General, BEF.

The training was attended by 23 participants, comprising mid-level managers, HR personnel, industrial relations officers, compliance managers, and other relevant representatives from BEF member enterprises across different sectors.
