Advocacy and Lobbying

The Federation renders expert assistance, advice and services to its member firms and the Government, particularly to the Ministry of Labour and Employment in the formulation of various policies, laws, rules and regulations on industrial relations and social policy issues. Its involvement in the formulation of policies in the field of industrial relations is highly appreciated by the stakeholders and social partners. BEF represents the employers and uphold their interests at national, regional and international level on all collective. BEF plays a greater role in fixing minimum wages in all sectors in the country. It also strongly represents the employers’ views and concerns while reviewing labor laws and rules. BEF actively promotes social dialogues among its members. It also strongly advocates on ensuring occupational safety and health. In addition, BEF encourages its members to promote social and environmental compliances and maintain harmonious industrial relations and decent work at all time.

The Federation represents employers in the Labor Courts of the country. Government requests BEF to nominate employers’ representatives on the panels. BEF always remains alert to ensure that legitimate interests of employers are duly protected through the members of the employers’ panels
