Organize a legal clinic to discuss labour laws and ILS with BEF member firms across sectors.

Bangladesh Employers’ Federation (BEF) in collaboration with ILO Country office for Bangladesh have successfully organize and facilitate a legal clinic to discuss and exchange on issues related to labour laws and ILS with BEF member firms from different sectors as part of a project titled as “Support to strengthen the Labour Law and Regulatory Affairs Cell (LLRAC)”. The agenda of the Legal Clinic is on Labour Laws, designed specifically for mid-level professionals working in Human Resources, Administration, and Compliance Departments. BEF organises this legal clinic every month.

Mr. Muhammad Habibur Rahman, Assistant Secretary-General, Legal Affairs moderated the session.

This legal clinic aims to enhance understanding of the key provisions of the Bangladesh Labour Act, 2006 and the Bangladesh Labour Rules, 2015, ILO conventions, recent legal developments, and practical compliance strategies essential for maintaining a harmonious industrial relations and legally compliant workplace.

The Legal Clinic was held in hybrid format on Tuesday, 27 May 2025 at 03:00 pm. The arrangement for the meeting was done at Police Plaza Concord, Tower-2, Level-6, Road-144, Gulshan-1, Dhaka.

This program is supported by ILO’s Advancing Decent Work in Bangladesh project. This is funded under the Team Europe Initiative’s- European Union, Denmark, the Netherlands, Sweden- Decent Work in Bangladesh Program.

A total of 93 participants of BEF member firms from different sectors attended the legal clinic and including ILO partners, almost 102 participants were present.
