Bangladesh Employers’ Federation (BEF), in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO) – Labour Administration and Working Conditions (LAWC) Cluster, organized a thematic discussion session titled “Effective Alternative Dispute Resolution Processes: Negotiation, Conciliation and Arbitration” on 14 May 2026 at MCCI’s Gulshan office in Dhaka.
The session focused on effective alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms and grievance handling processes, emphasizing early dispute resolution through negotiation, conciliation, and arbitration, along with the exchange of practical experiences. The discussion aimed to enhance participants’ understanding, strengthen institutional capacity, and promote constructive engagement between employers and workers.
Opening remarks were delivered by Mr. Saidul Islam, Additional Secretary-General, BEF, and Mr. Chowdhury Albab Kadir, Senior Programme Officer, ILO Bangladesh. A presentation on Effective Alternative Dispute Resolution Processes (Negotiation, Conciliation and Arbitration) was delivered by Mr. Kadir, followed by an interactive discussion. The session concluded with closing remarks by Mr. Saidul Islam.
The event brought together 25 participants, including representatives from BEF member organizations, industry leaders, and business associations such as BGMEA, BKMEA, BJMA, and FLAXA.
