BEF ORGANIZED THEMATIC DISCUSSION SESSION ON LEGAL FRAMEWORK FOR INDUSTRIAL DISPUTES AND PREVENTIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION

Bangladesh Employers’ Federation (BEF), in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO) Labour Administration and Working Conditions (LAWC) Cluster, organized a thematic discussion session on Legal Framework for Industrial Disputes and Preventive Dispute Resolution on 10 September 2026 at MCCI’s Gulshan Office in Dhaka.

The session aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of the legal framework governing labour disputes and preventive dispute resolution mechanisms.

The session started with remarks by Mr. Saidul Islam, Additional Secretary-General, BEF, and Mr. Chowdhury Albab Kadir, Senior Programme Officer, ILO Bangladesh. Mr. Mahfuzur Rahman Bhuiyan, Labour and Workplace Relations Adviser, BEF, delivered a presentation on the legal framework of labour disputes and preventive dispute resolution, with Mr. Chowdhury Albab Kadir sharing from the ILO perspective. The presentations were followed by an interactive discussion, experience sharing, and a question-and-answer session. The session concluded with closing remarks by Mr. Moslem Uddin, Assistant Secretary-General, BEF.

A total of 30 participants, including representatives of BEF member firms, sectoral employer organizations such as BJMA and FLAXA, and HR and industrial relations practitioners, attended the session.
