BEF Organized Knowledge Session on the Handbook on Labour Dispute Prevention and Resolution

Bangladesh Employers’ Federation (BEF), in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO) – Labour Administration and Working Conditions (LAWC) Cluster, organized a Knowledge Session on the “Handbook on Labour Dispute Prevention and Resolution” on 10 March 2026 at the MCCI Gulshan Office, Dhaka.

The session aimed to enhance awareness among employers and HR/IR professionals regarding effective labour dispute prevention and resolution mechanisms, while also strengthening their capacity to apply the practical tools detailed in the handbook.

Opening Session

The event began with opening remarks from:

  • Mr. Tahmid Ahmed, Vice-President, BEF
  • Ms. Nada Aridhi, Technical Specialist, LAWC Cluster, ILO Country Office for Bangladesh

A detailed presentation on the handbook was delivered by Mr. Chowdhury Albab Kadir, Senior Programme Officer, LAWC, ILO. An open discussion followed, moderated by Ms. Rukshana Yasmin Arzoo, Senior Programme Officer, LAWC, ILO.

Closing Session

The session concluded with closing remarks from Mr. Saidul Islam, Additional Secretary-General, BEF.

Participants

A total of 27 participants attended the session, representing BEF member organizations, industry leaders, and several business associations including BGMEA, BKMEA, BAPI, BAPA, BJMA, NASCIB, ISCs, and FLAXA.
