Today, 14 December 2022, we observe the Martyred Intellectuals Day. On this day in 1971, realizing their imminent defeat, the Pakistani forces and their collaborators picked up, tortured, and killed eminent Bangladeshi intellectuals in a last-minute attempt to completely wipe-out Bangladesh’s free-thinking class.
