Bangladesh Employers’ Federation (BEF), in collaboration with the ARC Programme of ILO, Country Office for Bangladesh, organized and conducted a dialogue session on “Inspiring Young Graduates for A Successful Transition: Bridging the Gap for Fresh Graduates in Bangladesh” on 28th February 2024 at its Motijheel office.
The objectives were to address the pressing issue of graduate employability, particularly among young graduates in Bangladesh and to better prepare them for the job market by providing with practical insights into employer expectations, job roles, and professional conduct. Ultimately, the overarching objective is to enhance the overall life experiences of young graduates by equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and practical insights necessary for successful entry into the job market and the pursuit of their career aspirations.
Mr. Farooq Ahmed, Secretary-General & CEO, Bangladesh Employers’ Federation (BEF) welcomed the guests and participants to attend the session. Mr. Neeran Ramjuthan, OIC, ILO Country Office, shared the program details and objectives of this discussion. Subsequently two sessions on “Industry Aspiration” and “Inspiration and Empowering Young Talents” were facilitated by Ms. Shusmita Anis, Managing Director, ACI Formulations Limited, and Mr. Parvez Saiful Islam, Chief Operating Officer, Square Foods and Beverages Limited respectively.
Mrs. Saira Banu, Associate Professor, Department of Management, University of Dhaka, and Dr. Md. Abdul Awal Khan, Professor, Dept. of Law, Independent University, Bangladesh shared their thoughts on the agenda of the event. A total of 87 participants (Female-32, Male-55) attended the program.
